Project Description

In 2011 Wendy Jeffs decided the time had come to move home. Having viewed a number of new build properties around the High Wycombe area it became glaringly obvious that none matched the design, build and finish quality of a Beeks home. Wendy Jeffs talks through her decision.

Having worked for Beeks for 31 years you could suggest that I had become convinced by our own marketing materials, but with my savings and future security at stake this was not a time to show bias!

My attention was drawn to a development that was nearing completion in Downley. The development was sympathetically blended into the village, which sits high above High Wycombe in an area of registered outstanding beauty.

There were several options to view, but there was one property that felt like home the minute I walked in. On the plan it was deceptive in size. What appeared to be a medium sized flat was in fact the size of many larger properties with less well planned living areas.

Clever storage

Every inch of space had been put to use. There is storage to match that of the average family home. Walk-in wardrobes make the bedrooms airy and eliminate the clutter that can come with freestanding furniture.

Any spare nook has been cleverly filled with shelves or made into a cupboard for discreet storage. There is even a space for an ironing board and vacuum cleaner, items that all too often have to remain on display in smaller properties.

Premium outside space

Being very aware of the premium that outside spaces add to the price of a home, I was delighted to find that incorporated into the smart design of the flat there was a secluded balcony. This added yet more space and light to my new home (I had decided by now that this was to be my new home!) and a beautiful view over the vale of High Wycombe.

Maintenance free living

I am now living very happily in a home that perfectly suits the way that I live and in the knowledge that there will be no maintenance issues to worry about for many years to come.

The whole purchasing process was a pleasure from start to finish and even though I work at Beeks I would highly recommend a Beeks home to anyone. To coin a very hackneyed phase, Beeks do exactly what they say on the tin – they build unique, highly finished and sustainable homes.

Wendy Jeffs purchased a Beeks flat off-plan in Downley, Buckinghamshire in 2011.
